Hot water extraction and encapsulated dry cleaning are both methods used for cleaning carpets, but they have some key differences:

Hot water extraction: This method involves injecting hot water mixed with cleaning solution into the carpet, then using a powerful vacuum to extract the dirt and water from the carpet. This method is also known as "steam cleaning" because of the visible steam that is created by the hot water. Hot water extraction can be effective for removing deep-seated dirt and stains, but it requires a significant amount of water, which can take a long time to dry. It also requires specialized equipment and training to perform the cleaning properly.

Encapsulation cleaning: This method involves using a cleaning solution that is specially formulated to crystallize dirt and other debris on contact. A machine with a rotating brush is then used to work the solution into the carpet, which causes the dirt and debris to be encapsulated, or surrounded, by the cleaning solution. Once the debris is encapsulated, it can be easily removed using a vacuum. Encapsulation cleaning uses less water than hot water extraction and also dries faster, which reduces the risk of mold and mildew growth. It also requires less equipment and training to perform, which makes it a more affordable option for some.
